see post titled ‘the greatest joke’ because it IS, TAYLOR

12 May

Taylor:  I’m pretty nervous about this interview tomorrow.

Me:  I’m excited for you.

Taylor:  Don’t be.  I’m not…I’m not going to get it.

Me:  Okay.  Well, you’re smart , and sweet.  The only question is whether they can tell you’re smart and sweet.

Taylor:  Yeah. You’re sweet for saying that.

Me:  You should…you should open up with a joke.

Taylor: Ha.

Me:  “So, there were these three clams, right?”

Taylor: Oh, no.

Me: “Bob Clam, Fred Clam, and Sam Clam.”

Taylor: Oh please God no.

Me:  “And they all went to clam preschool together.”

Taylor:  Stop.  Please stop.

Me: “And clam middle school-”

Taylor: STOP.  I AM TELLING YOU STOP.

Me: …

Taylor:  …

Me: …

Taylor: …

Me: “…Sam Clam’s disco.”

I told that joke to my boyfriend after seeing it on your blog. When the punchline clicked, he managed to laugh and groan and utter “That’s terrible!” all at the same time, which pretty much means this is the best joke ever. 😀

Haha! But seriously, I don’t know if it would be fantastic or horrible to use that for an interview.

De-lurking to say that this made me giggle non-stop for several minutes.

Yeah… I definitely don’t have the guts to open up an interview with that one. Or the one about the foo bird and what one should do with its excrement.

    Hahaha SO funny.
Since reading that joke when you first posted it, I have told it to my boyfriend, my best friend, both of my parents, the girl I sat next to a couple weeks ago at my college graduation, and my poor roommate, who has patiently endured my telling it at least three times.
Obviously, this is the best joke EVER.
